Suzuki - a key player in the world of ocean racing for 17 years - is continuing its partnership with the organizing company of the Transat Paprec, leader in its sector, OC Sport Pen Duick until 2026. The brand thus confirms its loyal commitment and concrete in the discipline.
The first seventeen years of the partnership between Suzuki and OC Sport Pen Duick have permanently established the brand as a key player in the world of ocean racing. Naturally, the two entities have decided to extend this faithful and concrete partnership for four additional years.
Suzuki France thus reaffirms its commitment to this discipline, which perfectly embodies its values: combativeness, humility and surpassing oneself. The brand has been the Official Partner of La Solitaire du Figaro since 2007 and of the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe since 2014.
With the renewal of this collaboration, Suzuki will celebrate 20 years of involvement in ocean racing in 2025.
After the Transat Paprec 2023, six other major races to come
New to this long-standing partnership, the Japanese brand is embarking on the adventure of the Transat Paprec. The only transatlantic event contested with a mixed double crew, the sailors will set off on the one-design Figaro Beneteau 3 from Concarneau towards Saint-Barthélemy next spring, then again in 2025.
A total alliance, a tangible involvement
For example, during the last Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe, Suzuki Automobile made 15 brand new S-Cross Hybrids available to the race organization. And Suzuki Marine has motorized the 61 semi-rigid boats from its partner Highfield intended for the safety of the water body. This partnership also allows Suzuki to offer its customers and business partners an extraordinary experience, at the heart of the races. In 2022, for example, no less than 300 customers were able to discover behind the scenes of these exceptional races.
“Suzuki France is particularly pleased to extend its joint adventure with OC Sport Pen Duick for four additional years. We will thus have the opportunity to celebrate our 20 years of partnership, a loyalty which testifies to the strength of the values we share. This partnership offers exceptional visibility to the brand and also makes it possible to unite Suzuki customers, distributors and partners around legendary events,” says Tomoyuki Shimazaki, President of Suzuki France .
Joseph Bizard, Managing Director of OC Sport Pen Duick , said: “Suzuki has been supporting us for 17 years in our mobility needs on land and water. It is a loyal and involved partner of the OC Sport Pen Duick races which contributes very concretely to the organization by providing vehicles and the motorization of semi-rigid boats for the race management. Suzuki has built a brand image very close to the one we build at events, particularly with the launch of the 100% hybrid auto range and the development of particularly efficient outboard motors. We are therefore really delighted with this concrete and renewed partnership”
