We use our events as a platform for impact.

Sport reaches and inspires all our audiences — participants and spectators alike — whether in sailing or outdoor disciplines.

 Sailing – our key actions

  • Implementation of Cetacean Protection Zones (CPZ) – a world first across an entire round-the-world sailing race.

  • Transat Paprec – the first transatlantic race sailed in 100% mixed-gender pairs.

Outdoor – our charity initiatives

This association helps parents build a solid foundation for their children’s future, even in challenging circumstances.

This organization works to ensure that the waters of the lake and the rivers of the Lake Geneva basin remain as pure as possible.

Evaluating our impact

We are working to minimize the carbon footprint of our events (Scopes 1, 2, and 3) in order to reduce our impact and deliver more environmentally responsible events. Since 2021, we have been measuring the carbon footprint of each of our events using a methodology developed in collaboration with the leading consultancy Carbone 4.

 Reducing our emissions

We set ambitious targets to reduce our emissions: •Sailing events: halve emissions by 2034 compared to 2022 •Outdoor events: reduce emissions by one-third by 2030 compared to 2022 Sailing – concrete examples: •Partnership with SNCF, installation of electric vehicle charging stations, and a carpooling platform •Elimination of cargo ship returns (Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe 2026) •Replacement of motorized support boats with sailing boats (La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec) Outdoor – concrete examples: •Carbon calculator integrated into the registration form for all events •Promotion of outdoor events only in areas served by low-carbon transport options •Integration of site location criteria near train, metro, or tram stations from the design phase, with the creation of loop courses whenever possible

Act through contribution

Beyond challenging all our practices to minimize the carbon impact of our events, we have developed a 100% local carbon contribution plan in collaboration with Agoterra. The idea is simple: to support virtuous and regenerative agricultural initiatives — carried out near our event sites — that help sequester significant amounts of CO₂ while promoting sustainable employment opportunities. Regenerative agriculture also brings many co-benefits, such as improving water and soil quality and preserving local biodiversity. Our ambition is to contribute to carbon reduction in line with the recommendations of the French National Low-Carbon Strategy (SNBC), which represents the implementation of the Paris Agreement in France.

As an event organizer, OC Sport is committed to creating unforgettable sporting experiences in some of the most challenging and beautiful environments on the planet.

These playgrounds — the oceans, the roads, the mountains, and the city centers — provide a unique stage for both amateur and professional athletes.

Deeply connected to nature and respectful of our environment, OC Sport has chosen to integrate sustainability principles into its practices and actions.

For more than 10 years, the OC Sport teams have been engaged in a profound process of rethinking their events to minimize their impact and ensure that participants and fans alike can enjoy outdoor sports sustainably.

This corporate vision has been embodied in a multi-year CSR strategic plan, encapsulated in a strong promise:

Beyond Sport For Nature — a solid path toward climate action.

This structured program, implemented across all our properties — and in particular on La Solitaire du Figaro Prapec — is built around two main pillars:
