First transatlantic crossing in mixed doubles
To accelerate the professionalization of female sailors, we have made strict gender parity mandatory on the Transat Paprec. This rule of a 100% mixed crew tangibly promotes women's access to the elite of offshore racing.

Gold medalist at the 2025 Sport Business Grand Prix in the "Best Supporter of Women's Sport" category
Bronze medal in the "Responsible Engagement" category at the 22nd edition of the SPORSORA Trophies.
The number of women increased from 3 (TBC) in 2021 to 11 in 2023 and 19 in 2025.

Changing the Rules of the Game: Mandatory Mixed-Gender Offshore Racing
For 30 years, the Transat Paprec has been raced "on equal terms" on one-design boats. But on the pontoons, equal opportunity was lacking: female sailors still struggled to find top-level berths and gain the trust of sponsors. To shatter this glass ceiling, we decided to stop waiting for mentalities to evolve on their own. We changed the rules.

The Regulatory Shock: Mixed-Gender as an Obligation
Since 2023, we have included a strict and unprecedented line in the Transat Paprec notice of race: the format is now mandatorily 100% mixed double-handed. One man, one woman on every boat, no exceptions.
It is no longer about encouraging or recommending the presence of women, but making it an absolute condition of entry. By modifying the very structure of this historic transatlantic race (Concarneau – Saint-Barthélemy), we have created an immediate gateway for female sailors.

An Accelerator for Professionalization
Imposing this rule on a major event of the French championship transforms the entire offshore racing sector. This decision acts as a concrete lever in three areas:
Unlocking funding: Partners and sponsors are now required to support projects that include women in order to be on the starting line.
Knowledge transfer: Crossing the Atlantic on a Figaro 3, one of the most demanding classes in the world, allows young female sailors to gain massive tactical and technical experience.
Creating a talent pool of excellence: The race is building the female skippers of tomorrow, those who will one day have the tools to lead large-scale solo projects, such as the Vendée Globe or the Route du Rhum.

The Proof in the Results
The impact of this choice is direct and quantifiable. The 2025 edition brings together 19 women on the starting line, establishing the absolute record for female participation in an offshore sailing event.
This structural commitment has also been praised by the entire sports industry. The Transat Paprec won the Gold medal for "Best Supporter of Women's Sports" as the first mixed double-handed transatlantic race in history at the 2025 Sport Business Grand Prix, and took home the Bronze medal in the "Responsible Commitment" category at the 22nd edition of the SPORSORA Awards.
