Over 12,000 runners line-up for 12th edition of Nice-Cannes Marathon

It was a rainy start for the 12thedition of the Nice-Cannes marathon, but the 12, 243 participants refused to let it dampen their spirits as they battled it out on the course, cheered on by the dedicated and enthusiastic spectators lining the course. 

With various distances available, including relay formats and the half marathon, runners celebrated personal accomplishments and achievements together. The two mayors from the start and finish cities (Christain Estrosi and David Lisnard) also got involved in the fun and completed the marathon in 4h16’19’’ and 3h19’20’’ respectively

The overall winner, Alemu GEMCHU took first place in 02:10:57, with Robert Chemosin following closely behind in a time of 02:11:07 and Arga Habtamu in third (02:11:26). In the women’s race, the favourite Alémito Lema from Ethiopia secured a comfortable lead in a time of 02:37:44. 

 

As runners crossed the finish line in Cannes, the sun came out to greet them along with their friends and family as they celebrated another incredible edition of the race.
