With 3,681 participants and a new race record set by Tadesse Abraham in a time of 59’55, the Geneva 20km by Geneva Airport has proved a huge hit with runners looking for an autumn challenge and the chance to enjoy a picturesque route along the lake, through the Geneva countryside and passing by the Palais des Nations.
The addition of the new 10km distance, which participants can enjoy either as a run, walk or nordic walk, saw the event entries double compared to previous years, along with the ever popular individual, duo and trio categories for the 20km event.
Race Director, Benjamin Chandelier was delighted with how the race went and with the sporting performances achieved. He said, “In the name of the organising Committee, I would like to thank the local authorities and the city of Geneva for their unwavering support, as well as the villages on the race route (Pregny-Chambésy, Le Grand-Saconnex, Bellevue and Genthod), as well as Geneva Airport and all our other partners for their help and their confidence in us. And of course, our incredible 300 volunteers who have given up several days of their time in order to help make this event a success.”
The 4th edition of the Geneva 20km by Geneva Airport will take place on the 1st November 2020. Pre-registration is already open for 2020 here.
