Outdoor Events Overview

Our Outdoor Events are a growing portfolio and include market leading cycling and running events. The Haute Route conceived in 2011, offers amateur riders the highest and toughest cyclosportives across the most iconic cols in the world (Pyrenees, Alps, and Rockies), with additional 3-day events. The iconic Harmony Geneva Marathon for Unicef is one of the fastest growing marathons in Europe and is our flagship marathon event. The La Tour Geneva Triathlon and the Geneva 20km by Genève Aéroport are returning in 2017 with many race formats and distances on offer.

Job Description

The Marketing and Media Assistant will work on our Mass events portfolio (including but not limited to: Harmony Geneva Marathon for Unicef, 20km of Geneva, Nice-Cannes Marathon, La Tour Geneva Triathlon

  • Media/ influencers relations with French and English speaking media, including forming pitches, approaching media and ultimately securing positive coverage
  • Organisation of media/influencers trips for events including organising logistics, preparation of welcome packs and hosting on site
  • Create bespoke and exciting proposals (both content and design) to convince media and influencers to speak about our events
  • Media buys
    • Conduct media and market research about media buying
    • Negotiate and buy media ads to an agreed budget
  • Media partnerships
    • Account manage existing and new media partnership relationships
    • Manage the day-to-day relationships with media partners
    • Explore opportunities and develop new media partnerships
  • VIP / Celebrities recruitment and management with the goal of generating positive media coverage
  • Processing mail outs and distribution of content (public/media) eg press releases
  • Updating and maintaining mail-out lists (media/public/competitors/other) including unsubscribes
  • Coding/logging of media coverage for evaluation reports
  • Assist in producing media reports
  • Assist in the production and distribution of communication tools (flyers, posters…)
  • Supporting the strategy & planning across all communications and PR
  • Supporting all social media
  • Promo Tour organization and management
  • Day-to-day assistance in administrative tasks (media activities, invoicing, meeting notes, database management etc)

Personal Specification

  • EU or Swiss National
  • Fluent in English and French is mandatory, additional languages would be an asset (particularly German, Italian, or Spanish)
  • Full Driving license is essential
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to lead projects and build sustainable relationships with Media and VIP
  • Creativity, curiosity, precision, pro-activity and a can-do attitude
  • Good reporting skills i.e activities, performance analysis, budget management and review of communication campaigns
  • Ability to work under own initiative and within a team
  • Great sense of humour which carries through under pressure
  • Excellent organisational skills and self-motivated personality
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, cope with event pressures, and manage time effectively
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of design software (Adobe suite) as well as CRM software would be beneficial, but not essential
  • Passion for running and endurance sport in general


  • “Convention de stage” or formal agreement through your educational provider is MANDATORY
  • You will be given a monthly allowance of 800 CHF (gross - before any deductions are taken for state and federal taxes, insurance etc)
  • 10 vacation days for a 6-month internship
  • For internships of 3 months or more we will reimburse the full cost of a CFF card. The card entitles you to a 50% discount on train tickets (to qualify for a CFF card you must be living in Switzerland)
  • Office hours are between 9.00am and 6.00pm, but during the events or busy periods, you may be expected to work evenings and weekends
  • Travel, accommodation and subsistence are covered for approved business travel, in line with current company policies
