“Yesterday was tricky because of the really light wind conditions since the start which saw us doing lots of gybes and sail changes….each sail set-up requires a different stacking mode, so it was difficult to sleep when you are off watch. Pascal really takes care of how the weight is placed down below and on deck, as we to try to gain an extra knot of speed. From sea to sky in the beautiful French Pyrenees

Riders rolled out of Anglet and along the Basque coast at dawn for the first stage of the 2017 Haute Route Pyrenees. The hundreds of amateur cycling enthusiasts from across the globe set off in perfect conditions for their weeklong adventure through the French Pyrenees. At 174km in length and with 3,450m of climbing, today’s first stage was a perfect introduction to the week.

With nearly 1,500m of climbing through the foggy Pyrenean foothills before starting the first col, riders attempted to stay grouped in small pelotons to work together and save energy for the climbs ahead.

Sprint to St Malo: Dongfeng Race Team finishes third in Leg Zero, Round 3

The Chinese boat sponsored by Dongfeng Motor Corporation, which won the Volvo Ocean 65 class in the Rolex Fastnet Race on Tuesday, rounded out the podium positions in St Malo behind MAPFRE and Team Brunel.

The short race from Plymouth saw the crews complete a fast passage to a mark off the Needles at the western end of the Isle of Wight, before turning south and downwind towards the finish.

Dongfeng Race Team wins Fastnet thriller by 56 seconds

The Volvo Ocean 65, Dongfeng, skippered by Charles Caudrelier of France, clinched a hard-fought class win in the 47th biennial Rolex Fastnet Race this morning at 04:18 UTC when it crossed the finish line off Plymouth breakwater.

After 2 days, 15 hours, 38 minutes and 10 seconds of intense racing, the red and white one-design, sponsored by Dongfeng Motor Corporation, finished just 56 seconds ahead of its Spanish rival MAPFRE, skippered by Xabi Fernández.
