In 2006 OC Sport created and co-organised the Barcelona World Race - a first in the sport of offshore sailing that saw a double-handed, non-stop around the world race.

The concept bought together sailors from the world of professional solo and crewed racing, and the Barcelona World Race became part of the official IMOCA circuit. Since the first edition of the race in 2007, co-organisers FNOB took over fully the management of the race, but OC Sport retain joint-ownership of the IP of the event. The third edition of the race will be staged over the 2014/15 winter.

"What a great job your team have done with this race. The feedback I have received has been fantastic with many people saying it's the first offshore race that they were really able to follow and get involved."
