Under a radiant July sun the first ever Haute Route Alpe d’Huez riders completed the inaugural edition today, after three days of magnificent cycling on and around Alpe d’Huez. Riders completed a total of 245km and climbed over 8,700m through some of the most famous climbs in the Alps: Glandon, Croix de Fer, les 2 Alpes and the three different ascents up Alpe d’Huez from Bourg d’Oisans, Villard-Reculas and col de Sarenne.

In one week’s time the Extreme Sailing Series™ will make its debut in the iconic capital of Spain’s Catalonia region, Barcelona, for the fourth stage of the 2017 season.

Following the success of the inaugural edition of the Mavic Haute Route Rockies that ended in Colorado on June 30th, the 2017 Haute Route season resumed today with the Haute Route Alpe d’Huez.
Based on a new 3-day concept, which is in contrast to the established 7-day point-to-point events which will take place later this summer; the first edition of the Haute Route Alpe d’Huez offers three timed and ranked stages based around one iconic location.

Extreme Sailing Series™ Act 3, Madeira Islands has been awarded Clean Regatta Gold Level certification by Sailors for the Sea.
The Cascais based charity partnered with the ultimate Stadium Racing championship for the Portuguese Act, in a joint effort to highlight the campaign to save our oceans.
By implementing some important changes to the set-up of the event, as well as running an educational programme that included talks and challenges for the sailors and guests, the Series achieved the second highest level of certification.

It all came down to the final nail-biting double-points race of Extreme Sailing Series™ Act 3, Madeira Islands, which went the way of Danish-flagged SAP Extreme Sailing Team.
